While there are some interesting details that leak through about how he taught the Polgar girls, Laszlo’s main preoccupation throughout the book seems to be press and societal criticism of him, his methods and his family, which both he and the interviewer take pains to repeatedly stress is unfounded, and that the girls are all very happy and engaging children.

There are some other interesting details, of how a hypothetical genius school’s day could be structured, and how exactly you teach a young child to play chess, but these I think were not central, and certainly not covered in-depth.

I was happy that at home we were a closed circle and then we went out playing chess and saw the world. Lazlo chose to specialise with his three daughters in chess and they all went on to become hugely successful chess players, all grandmasters I believe. My favorite part was that he tried to raise not simply geniuses, but happy geniuses. My father and mother are exceptional pedagogues gemius can motivate and tell it from all different angles.

He home-schooled their three daughters, primarily in chess, and all three went on to become strong players.

Those interested in education. I really recommend this book for every parent. In reading those biographies, he had “identified laszlk common theme—early and intensive specialization in a particular subject.
