It sounds right to my ear. My wife introduced it to me back when she was working at Bookstop — it was one of her childhood books that I’d never heard of. A colorful and amusing mind bender book for children and adults alike. You can’t go wrong with Remy Charlip.

Too bad it’s out of print! Oh, to be the kind of adult who remu dream up such wonderfully clever and amusing creations that are exactly the food a good child’s mind can gobble up. One of my favorite ar books because of the visual images and word play. I have been totally entertained by this water color enhanced, illustrative, “punny” gift from a dear friend. Remy Charlip never ceases to astound me.
Refresh and try again. This was one of my favoite books when I was 5 or 6.

It’s a sub-genre all its own, but fans of concrete poetry, nonsense verse, tongue twisters, word play, meta- and interactive fiction will all find something to giggle over, something they want to share out loud with their families.

Beautiful illustrations matched with mind bending ideas. But that is a quibble. Anyone who has a child or has been a child ; should enjoy this book. To paraphrase one of my favorite parts of it: My son gets wildly tickled by the word plays and the line and ink drawings, and the innocence and sweetness of the whole affair takes my breath away.
Recommended if you can find it at your library before they cull it, but I’m not sure it’s actually worth buying. Where it isn’t humorous, it is interesting and where it isn’t either it is fun.
